Drop Off: Please use Ocean Drive (in a southerly direction only) for drop off. A group of uniformed Hammerhead counselors will meet your camper at the drop-off point on Ocean Drive and 5th Street. Enter Ocean Drive at Manhattan Beach Blvd. and drive south. DO NOT cut in line from Manhattan Ave on 6th,7th, 8th, 9th, etc. This disrupts the flow of traffic. Please be sure our counselor checks your child in and gives you the "all clear" before you drive away. Counselors will escort your camper to the appropriate group on the beach. If you choose to get out of your car, please park on Manhattan Avenue or Highland and walk your child down to the drop-off area or to camp. In order to keep traffic running smoothly, you may not get out of your car at the drop-off/pick-up area. NO EARLY DROP-OFFS OR PICKUPS BY ORDER OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT. Pickup: Please use the same method for picking up your camper. You will be required to sign the check-out board when the counselor delivers your camper to your car. Again, there is no need to exit your car unless, of course, you wish to, in which case we ask that you park on Manhattan Avenue or Highland Avenue. Please be prompt - A $1 per minute late fee will be charged after a ten-minute grace period. Please do not idle, park or leave your car at any time during the drop-off or pick-up process. Any of these actions may disrupt the process & lengthens an already difficult situation for our neighbors living along Ocean Drive. Camp is Located near Lifeguards and Restrooms: Hammerhead is located at 6th Street, adjacent to the 8th Street Lifeguard tower. Bathroom facilities are available at 8th Street. |
